In August 2010, Blue Mountain Project will again staff their annual 2-week Fun Camp and Back2School Extravaganza, and is now seeking applications from qualified teachers, education students, camp staff, social workers, or just plain ol’ folks with experience with and enthusiasm for working with big groups of kids. We will be conducting our camp from August 7 to 22, 2010. Our theme for this year’s camp is collectivity and service to community.
We are also accepting applications from others who would like to serve in Jamaica this fall. Tell us your interests and skills, and we’ll try to match you up with a project. Are you part of a church group or service club looking for an international experience? We are particularly interested folks with light construction and building maintenance skills, teachers for mentoring in the school system, and people interested in beautification projects. At this time we could also use a skilled auto mechanic.
If you would like to be considered for the August 2010 Fun Camp or for volunteering for us later in the fall, please email our SLP Coordinator for more info and an application. Submit your application for Fun Camp by July 1, 2010. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a first come first served basis.
We can assure you an insightful experience and an opportunity to connect across the globe, as well as a chance to perfect and learn new skills while witnessing the transformative power of your presence. More importantly you will be serving a community that desperately needs your support.
