Faith’s Pen Jamaica | Tasty Road Food in Saint Ann!

A Cultural (& Food) Landmark in Faith's Pen, Jamaica If you love "road food" as much as I do and are driving between the North Coast of Jamaica and Kingston or Spanish Town via Route A1, be sure to make a rest stop at the famous Faith's Pen near Mount Diablo, in the central mountain area of Saint Ann Parish. Specifically, this Jamaican-style "truck stop" is located right along the edge of a winding section of road between the rural communities of Mount Rosser and Moneague, about 12 miles south of Ocho Rios. There's no way you can miss it. You'll find a strip of food vendor stalls with...

"Sometimes you just have to get up off of that lounge chair and go explore." Great advice from the Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern about experiencing wonderful Jamaican food! Some of my favorites are here - like chicken foot soup, curry goat, and tripe & beans. And some great places to try on your travels, like Aunt Merle's at Hellshire Beach for fresh fish, Cherry's One-Stop in Faith Pen, and exotic fruits from the stands in Bog Walk Gorge. Now I am HUNGRY! Enjoy... and go eat some Jamaican food! Yeah man. Part 1 Jamaican Food on "Bizarre Foods" featured on TRAVEL Part 2 Jamaican...

Go while you can - it's a beautiful drive! Jamaica’s Ian Fleming Airport Opens January 12!

Posted by on Jan 10, 2011 in Blog, Jamaica News, Jamaica Travel, Ocho Rios Jamaica, St. Mary Jamaica | 0 comments

Okay, not to be picky... but both the new Ian Fleming International Airport at Boscobel and Oracabessa's Goldeneye Resort are located in the beautiful rural parish of Saint Mary on Jamaica's north coast. True, they are very close to Ocho Rios (obviously the nearest well-known resort area) but I think we should give credit where credit is due!! Seems to me people should always know & appreciate where they really are, and St. Mary is a dramatically picturesque parish with a lot of things to do. Apparently the new airport has a passenger lounge, pilot briefing room and customs and...

Visit Green Grotto Caves on Jamaica’s North Coast

October 5, 2010 at 5:43 pm Ideally located on Jamaica’s scenic North Coast, between the resort centres of Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, the Green Grotto Caves are a major historical and natural attraction for both local visitors and tourists who crave adventure. Said to have once been a haven for pirates and even runaway slaves in the 18th century, the caves (named for the green algae that cover its walls) are characterized by coastal limestone and are easily accessible. The tour of the caves (measuring 1,525 metres in length and 12 metres in depth) lasts just under an hour! The structure of...
