Where to Eat in Jamaica?

Hungry? There are so many wonderful restaurants and cookshops all over Jamaica! I have listed them by Parish so you can see what is available in whatever beautiful spot you happen to be in.

You can decide whether you want to nyam and scram (eat and run), or just relax in an outdoor dining area or restaurant. There are so many options; if you ask any taxi driver you are certain to get a recommendation. If you’re looking for something special, like jerk chicken or seafood, let the driver know.

Because of its blend of so many cultures, Jamaica offers all types of cuisine on the island; Italian, Chinese, Indian, etc. Jamaica also caters to vegetarians, so ask around or review my recommendations.

If eating on the go, most communities also have bakeries where you can find hard-dough bread, holey bulla (a sweet bread with a hole in the middle), patties, and buns and cheese. Be sure to check out those local favorites in addition to the ones I have listed.

I prefer local Jamaican specialties, so those places tend to be my "Editor's Picks", but I have listed many options, from beachside, to casual, to dressier romantic spots. Click on the Parish below and get those taste buds ready!

It’s always a good thing to find information relevant to what I am looking for. Cheers!
