Posted by on Jan 31, 2011 in Blog, Jamaica Travel | 0 comments

Enjoy a GREAT article from the Toronto Star about Jamaica's Charles Town Maroons and the Cunha Cunha Maroon Trail linking Portland and Saint Thomas. I love cultural events and activities and keep saying that one of these days I'm going to make the trip to meet Ivelyn Harris. The author makes me want to go now! Superb job - very informative - keep writing! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Getting Marooned in Jamaica Janie Robinson Special to the Star CORNWALL BARRACKS, JAMAICA—Bouncing my bag along a rocky dirt path, past grazing goats and barking dogs, I’m falling farther and farther behind my host, as my...

If you're on the road exploring Jamaica's East coast with a hungry belly, Long Bay in Portland has some good options. Here is one of them. I've enjoyed several good meals here at Blazer in the past few months. Blazer on the Bay is located smack dab in the middle of Long Bay's glorious white sand beach. In its previous lives, it was Cool Runnings Bar followed by the charming Yahimba Beach Cottages which were ravaged by Hurricane Dean in 2007....
