If you don't find something in our Hanover Jamaica hotels and lodging options to meet your needs, remember to check in the neighboring Parishes of Saint James and Westmoreland. Some Parishes in Jamaica are mostly rural, and the "country" areas aren't always geared toward travelers. Of course, that's what makes Jamaica so interesting! You may find the perfect accommodations just a few miles away in either direction.
Global Villa – Esher (Lucea), Hanover, Jamaica
Lucea, the capital of Hanover Parish, was once the home of the famous Captain Bligh who lived here after the Mutiny on the Bounty. An infamous pirate, Captain Morgan (you know, the one with the rum named after him), owned quite a bit of land here. Global Villa is a 10-room guesthouse situated halfway between Negril and Montego Bay, in Esher which is 5 miles west of Lucea. The simply furnished, clean rooms have private bathrooms, tile floors, louvered windows, color TV, ceiling fans, and some have A/C. Jamaican cuisine is served in their dining room or on one of their verandahs. The beach is just a short stroll across the road. This low-key establishment also has a nice bar with Saturday karaoke! While in Hanover Parish, visit the museum and Fort Charlotte, site of a famous battle between the British and the Spanish. Phone: 876.956.2916. Check them out at TripAdvisor.com.

Rhodes Hall Plantation - Green Island Post Office, Hanover, Jamaica
This lush, unspoiled property is about 20 minutes from Negril on 500+ historic acres. The Plantation has been in continuous operation since the 1700s when its principal products were sugar cane and rum. Today they cultivate a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Each of the clean, well-appointed rooms is painted a different tropical color and features full to partial ocean views. Most have air-conditioning, satellite TV and all have modern private bathrooms. Many have kitchenettes with sink, toaster, oven and microwave. Some rooms have full kitchens including oven and broiler. Rooms can be adjoined in various configurations to create a 2, 3, or even four room suite with a personal whirlpool, living room, and dining room. Guests stress the friendliness of the staff. A bonus is that there is spectacular snorkeling just off Rhodes Hall’s coast! Their one-mile private beach and coastline include government-protected coral formations and a fish hatchery, creating a perfect shielded reef for snorkeling. Sunset at the Palms Resort – Norman Manley Blvd. (on Bloody Bay), Negril (Hanover), Jamaica

Okay, okay – we said we wouldn’t bore you with all-inclusives, but this property has kind of a unique design, is one of the few reasonably priced options in the surrounding area, and has received Green Globe’s Certificate for Environmentally Sustainable Tourism, so it qualifies as an eco-tourism resort! Formerly the Negril Cabins Resort, Sunset at the Palms is just across the road from five beachfront acres on Bloody Bay, about a 60-minute drive from Montego Bay, and is actually in Hanover Parish. It offers 65 treehouse-style wood cabins on stilts; spread over 10 acres of lush tropical gardens. The cabins have all been renovated and there is a lovely pool and Jacuzzi. The food is reportedly great and they also offer room service food & drink. Remember, although more expensive than our usual recommendations, the rates are far more reasonable than its competitors and it is an all-inclusive. Phone: 876-957-5350.
